QUICK TIPS
Flash Drive Data
Transfer
NOTE: All members MUST be entered into the
Member Tracking System at their HOME unit.
1. At the Satellite/Unit Computer:
a. On the Main Menu,
click on Procedures
b. Click on Compact &
Repair Data and Standards
c. Follow the prompts
for the Compact and Repair - this procedure will make a quick backup
d. After the Compact &
Repair, click on the Quick Backup in the center of the screen
e. It will ask
'Back-up files again?' Answer Yes
f. It will tell you
the name and location of the folder for the Quick Backup, write it
down
g. Click OK and
minimize or close the Member Tracking System
h. Open Windows
Explorer on the Satellite computer
i. Go to the Quick
Backup folder C:\MTS7Backup\2007-02-28B
or whatever is the MOST Current folder
j. Open the most
current folder, right click on the
MTS7data file inside and choose copy
k. Scroll down and
find the Removable drive E: or F: depending on your computer.
l. Right click on the
Removable Drive and choose paste
m. When it is
complete, take the Flash drive to the main office.
2. At the Main Office/Primary computer:
a. Place the Flash
Drive into the USB port
b. Open the Member
Tracking System
c. Go to Procedures
d. Click on Import
Data from Disk
e. Click on the button
with the yellow folder at the end of the Import path line
f.
Go to
the flash drive which usually appears as the next drive letter after
the CD drive
g. Click on the flash
drive letter and click OK
h. Click on Get Data
i. Click OK at the
'Verify that media in E: or F: is ready' follow the prompts
j. Click on Process
All Data button and follow the prompts for a Quick Backup
k. Click the Import
button to begin the import, you will see the program working on the
import
this may take several minutes
l. Repeat all of step
2 for each
Satellite data file you need to import
Follow the directions above for each
data file you want to import into the master data file.
This is an excellent backup tool. We
recommend backing up regularly.
