How to Setup the Bar Code Font and Scanner

The Bar Code Scanner you received is a plug and play type of hardware. Follow the steps below to install your Bar Code Font and Bar Code Scanner:

BAR CODE FONT
1. Click on Start
2. Click on Settings
3. Click on Control Panel
4. Double Click on Fonts
5. Click on File NOTE: For Vista machines, right click on the Fonts folder in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
6. Click on Install New Font
7.
In the lower left corner of the window that opens, double click on the c:\, then double click on Program Files, then click on the MTS7 folder
8. Click on 3 of 9 Barcode (TrueType) in the List of Fonts box and Click OK
9. Open Member Tracking System, Click on the Members button
10. Click on the Member ID Card button on the bottom of the screen
11. Click on the Edit Card Layout button in the top right corner
12. Click on the Object Settings button
13. On the Layout Editor click on the wide empty box on the bottom of the ID Card
14. The Object Settings window will show that this is the Person’s Barcode
15. On the Object Settings screen there is a Font dropdown, change the Font to 3 of 9 Barcode
16. Close and Preview your ID Cards

BAR CODE FONT in Windows 7
1. Open My Computer
2. Go to the C:\Program Files\MTS7 folder
3. Right click on 3of9.ttf
4. Click on Install

BAR CODE SCANNER
1. The scanner should be put together according to the instructions in the box
2. Plug the scanner into a USB port on your computer
3. Your computer will automatically recognize that new hardware has been installed and you should hear a short beep indicating that the scanner has been recognized by the computer
4. Test the scanner by opening a blank document in MS Word and scan anything with a barcode
5. Hold the barcode approximately 4 to 6 inches away from the scanner and you will see a red line
6. Line up the barcode with the red line, you will hear a beep and see a number in your Word document
7. Close the Word document and open the Member Tracking System
8. Schedule your Activities from the Main Menu, close Activities when this is done
9. Open Quick Entry from the Main Menu, click Yes if the Date and Time are correct
10. Begin scanning your members for General Attendance or any other activities you have setup

NOTE: Minimum Hardware Requirements are:
• Pentium III, Windows XP or higher (with ALL service packs installed)
• 1 GIG RAM or Higher
• 2 Gigs RAM with Windows Vista and Office 2007
• 900 meg free Hard Drive space
• MS Access 2002 (XP) or higher (with ALL service packs installed)
