QUICK TIPS
How to Use the Universal Selection
Engine
The Universal Selection Engine is designed to
enable the user to query the list of members for any report and the
Members form and Activity Calendars and numerous other items in the
program.

When you open the Universal Selection Engine,
the default will be on the time Frame choice on the left and All
Members in the System on the right. This default will give you
a list of ALL members from all Units, for all Membership Types for
all Genders etc. EVERYONE IS IN THE SYSTEM.
To change the Time Frame choice, you can choose
the bullets next to:
An Individual Member
from the Last, First or Memb # dropdowns OR;
Members who Attended
or Did NOT Attend at least one day in a chosen time frame OR;
Members who were
enrolled at least one day in a chosen time frame OR;
Members with the
Earliest, Any or Latest Entry Date in a chosen time frame OR;
Members with an
Earliest, Any or Latest Expiration Date at a chosen time frame.
To change any of the other choices on the left,
click on the corresponding checkbox and then choose from the options
that appear on the right side of the screen. Two Examples are
shown below.
Member Status chosen is Active

Ages chosen are between 9 and 12 as of
8/24/2010

You can choose more than 1 option at a time on
the left.
EXAMPLE:
If All Members in the
System= 9759
Then you choose single
Unit it reduces the count of members in your list=1109
Then you choose Member
Status of Active it reduces the list=311
Then you choose a
Member Type of Day Care it reduces the list=121
Then you choose Gender
of Female it reduces the list=63
Click on the Count button any time to find out
how many members fall in your chosen criteria.
Click on the Continue button to continue
looking at the report you have chosen.
Click on the Grouping Tools to create a Group
from your chosen criteria.
Click on the Help? button to read more about
this feature or call to discuss your specific needs.
NOTE:
Security Settings
might prevent you from choosing any other unit besides your own.
Some of the criteria
(age groups, ages, city, fee level, housing area, income level,
membership type, new/renewal, school grades, school level, schools
and ZIP code) are time sensitive. This means that those fields
are tracked over a period of time. If you choose one of these
criteria and expect a person or don't expect a person to be on your
list then go back to the Members form. Find that person's
record and check all of the criteria you have chosen on the
Universal Selection Engine to make sure they do or do not fall into
the chosen criteria.
Make sure to fill in
all data on your members because missing information can also cause
your members to be off.
