How to Create ID Cards

Editing Your ID Cards

Every club is different, so we’ve provided built-in features that allow you to customize your own Member or Staff ID Cards, mailing labels and certificates. ON the Member ID Card screen, first choose which size Card you will use from the Print Layout dropdown. Then Click on the Edit Card Layout button at the top right- hand side to open a new window called the Custom Membership Card Layout Editor.

Notice the template layout in the top portion of your screen. You can use the default settings provided, or create your own customized card.

Click on the Object Settings button to open and close the Object Settings Window. The window will be blank, until you click on an “object” inside the template window.

For example, click on “Nicole” in the template. Notice the red border that appears. Also notice if the Object Settings window is open it will provide description about what the object is, where it is located on the screen, what font, size and whether it is centered or left aligned.  You can manipulate its alignment, or resize it. To move the object around the template, use the arrow keys on your keyboard. Keep in mind - You cannot click, drag or move an object by using your mouse.

  • To move any object - Click on the object and use your arrow keys or hold the CTRL key and use the arrow keys to move in larger increments.

  • To size any Object - Click on the object. Hold down the shift key and use your arrow keys.

  • To remove any Object - Click on the object. Use the delete key on your keyboard to remove it.

Using the Objects Settings Window
Object Settings are useful tools that allow you to change the look of your Member ID cards.

Settings for Sizing and Aligning
There are several features that allow you to manipulate alignment, height and width:

  • Control Top = the distance that the item is from the top edge of the form

  • Left = the distance that the item is from the left edge of the form

  • Height = how tall the object is

  • Width = how wide the object is

These items can be changed with the arrow keys on your keyboard or by typing in different numbers in the boxes provided.

When manipulating size or alignment, please make sure that all objects stay inside the template. If you try to move an object outside the area, you will receive a message to stay within the template boundaries.

Additional object settings allow you to manipulate font, border, color, text size and more:

  • Font = Allows you to type in any font name, which is available on your computer

  • Size/Weight = Indicates font size and style of font

  • Color = Allows you to modify the color of the font

  • Alignment = Allows the object to be aligned Left, Right, or Center

  • Background = Allows you to change the background to Transparent or Normal

  • Color = Allows you to change the background color of the Object

Click on the Control/Object Settings button at the top right to remove the window from view. Click on it again, and the Control/Object Settings window will re-appear.

Adding New Objects to Your Template
To add an Object to your template, click on the Object List. Here, you can choose from a Date of Birth, Hair Color, Person’s Picture and more. Choose from among these features when building your Member ID template.

You can also select:

  • Optional Text – type any text you need here

  • Organization Logo 2 – add a second logo or graphic

  • Organization, Line Under Logo – places the text you entered in Organization Information Line Under Logo field

Once you choose an Object from the Object List then click on the Add Object to Layout button, the new Object with a red border will appear in the upper left corner of your ID template. Click on the new object once to manipulate the object as mentioned above in the Object Settings section of this help file.

Printing Your ID Cards
There are
several choices to the print layout section, and you can print as many cards and labels as you like for Individuals, All who need a card, by Group, Membership Type, Age Group or Membership Status.

For the Individual Only you can choose where you want your cards to appear on the page prior to printing. If printing an individual member's ID Card, simply choose a name from the Last Name dropdown menu. Next click on the white rectangle where you want your new ID Card to print. Notice, the white rectangle turns gray. If more than one rectangle is gray or highlighted, two copies of the same card will print. If you want three copies, highlight three rectangles.

Printing One or More Cards
If you want an easy way to print several cards at once, use these quick tips:

From the Main Menu, click on the Members button. There are several ways to find a Member:

  • At the top center of your screen, you can Find By Last Name, Find By Membership Number, Find By City, etc. Click on the pull-down menu to review your options.

  • At the top right of your screen, you can use the “Find:” pull-down menu, and click on an individual member

  • Use the arrow keys located to the left of the Member ID Card button at the bottom right side of your screen. You can sort by Last Name, First Name, Age, City and more.

Once you select a member’s name, click inside the checkbox next to Member ID Card Needed. Choose another name, and repeat this process. This will allow you to print as many cards as you need. We recommend that you print 10-20 cards at a time, so you don’t overload your printer.

To print these selections, click on the Member ID Card button, and click on “Everyone Who Needs A Card Printed.” Then, choose Print. If you wish to remove the names you previously flagged to receive ID Cards, click on Clear ‘Need Card’ Checkbox.
